A steak restaurant, an exclusive members’ bar and a few familiar names – we’ve got the lowdown on seven new openings coming soon to Leeds.
Ready for another batch of new openings? We’ve got seven new additions to tell you about, all coming soon to Leeds. There’s a new steak restaurant from York, an exclusive members’ bar opening on Hirst’s Yard and the expansion of a pair of legendary Leeds names, but that’s just the start, so take a look at what’s on the way and decide which one you’ll visit first.
Roxy Lanes is moving into a brand new venue. The old Red Hot World Buffet on The Headrow is being transformed into a bigger and better version of the much-loved bowling alley-cum-bar. It will be home to 10 state-of-the-art tenpin bowling lanes, up from 4, but that’s not all. You can also look forward to 2 duckpin bowling lanes and the first-ever indoor ice curling rink in a Yorkshire bar. They’ll also do an incredible selection of craft beer, classic cocktails and bar food, which you can enjoy while watching the big games in the ground floor sports bar.
Roxy Lanes will open on The Headrow later in 2021.
The Cut and Craft
Flat-iron steak and craft beer is the name of the game at The Cut and Craft, which has seen great success in York. They’re taking over two shop units In Victoria Quarter and transforming them into a restaurant with a £1 million refurb. But what will you be eating? Their signature dish is the 10oz flat iron steak, sliced and served medium rare, but you can also choose from burgers, ribs and pies. Paired with craft beers or classic cocktails, you’re in for a treat.
The Cut and Craft will open in Victoria Quarter in Summer 2021.
Hush is an exclusive members’ bar opening above Mook on Hirst’s Yard. With a capacity of just 70 people every Friday and Saturday, the bar is ready-made for luxurious nights out with its carefully curated guest list – you can sign up by visiting the venue. Once inside, all your needs are taken care of by their team, who will do everything from creating bespoke playlists for your visit to providing table service for your own cocktail menu. Complete with a no social media policy, it’s VIP heaven.
Hush will open on Hirst’s Yard in Summer 2021.
Library of Things
Buy Nowt LS6 is opening a Library of Things in Hyde Park. Already popular across the UK, a Library of Things is a repository for useful things. It works just like a book library, but with everything from sewing machines to carpet cleaners, power washers and lawnmowers to borrow instead. Items are leant out on a pay-as-you-feel basis or you can sign up for a membership to borrow them for free.
Library of Things will open in Headingley in Summer 2021.
Park House & La Bottega Milanese
The old Pizza Express on Park Square is being transformed into a modern co-working space, complete with hot desks, meeting rooms and its very own La Bottega Milanese cafe. This Leeds favourite serves incredible coffee – it’s made using 100% ethically-sourced, speciality-grade Arabica beans. If you get hungry, there will be a host of sweet treats, from cannoli to pastries, as well as more substantial eats like their piadina sandwiches and homemade lasagne.
La Bottega Milanese will open at Park House in July 2021.
Pizza Punks is a new pizzeria promising ‘anarchy in the oven’, but how? They’re giving you total control to ‘punk up’ your pizzas. You can load their double-fermented sourdough base with as many toppings as you like, in any combination you like, for no extra cost. Choose your sauce, add your cheese, then get to work. Black pudding, chilli chocolate and smoked aubergine? You got it. Anchovies, artichokes and lamb shawarma? Hey, it’s your call. If you don’t fancy pizza, they have a similar menu of create-your-own pasta dishes.
Pizza Punks will open on Bond Street in 2021.
Leon’s healthy twist on fast-food is already available at Leeds Station but soon there will be another place to get their tasty grub. They’re opening their first ever drive-thru restaurant on the A650 near Morley, by the M62 and M621 junctions. The 2,000 square foot restaurant will also have 50 covers and they’re putting together a new menu with a focus on family eating, including an extended children’s offering. These new dishes will sit alongside Leon favourites like grilled wraps, gluten-free chicken nuggets and carbon neutral burgers.
Leon will open just off the A650 near Morley in 2021.
