Leeds-List meets... Sue Burgess

One of the best examples of Leeds’ architecture, The Market has been a fixture in the city since 1822 (which was then on Briggate) and despite being gutted in the seventies by fire, the beautiful glass and ironwork of the 1904 market hall still exists to this day.

The market is also one of the best places in the city to pick up fresh veg and produce, to have sewing work done and for everything else in between. Many of the market’s traders have been in the city for generations and can offer a much more personal shopping experience and often better value than the modern, soulless supermarket.
