Perhaps one of the lesser-known galleries in Leeds, the Workshop Press Gallery is a focused, centered space that’s emphasis is on promoting and working with narrative art and promoting artists who choose to dabble in this medium.
Helmed by Garry Barker, the Workshop Press Gallery has always maintained this focus on narrative art and it’s easy to understand why. Narrative art follows a story, factual or fictional, and the Workshop Press is committed to this art form in particular.
Garry has a huge and effusive amount of passion for the gallery and the other activities available for any budding artist seems to prove this. There’s a dedicated etching studio on hand and available for usage by booking that will provide a quiet space for budding etchers to focus on their skill. There are also press publishing services in-house and available for anyone wanting to print a glossy art book of their very own that will rival any of Leeds’ galleries.
The Workshop Press Gallery is full of Garry’s experimental art which is always telling a story and sharing some emotion that always connects with its viewers and patrons, ensuring that this gallery full of original narrative art will remain a firm favourite for years to come.
