Quids In at Pryzm

If you’ve blown your student loan but still want a quality night out, head to Quids In Mondays at Pryzm. You’ll only need £1 to get in before 12pm and drinks are just as cheap – VKs, vodka and Jung-bombs (faux Jäger) all start from £1.50. Pryzm is a huge club, so you have plenty of space to cut some shapes to their playlist of guilty pleasure anthems, R&B beats and indie throwbacks spun by some of Leeds’ finest DJ talent.

On a tight budget? Space Tuesdays is the night for you. Indie Thursdays? It’s only one of Leeds’ biggest student nights out that doesn’t involve EDM. You can trip the light fantastic to all the indie rock icons, from the Arctic Monkeys to Blossoms and Gorillaz, in one of the city’s most iconic gig venues – the O2 Academy. Think multicoloured lights and a laidback vibe with plenty of singalong ops. Tickets come in at just £6 but sell out quick, so act fast to grab yours.

Nocturnal at Mint

So it’s not quite the weekend yet, but that doesn’t mean you should stay at home – and you don’t have to. Nocturnal is Mint’s Thursday night student special and your new go-to for a mid-week boogie. Blasting endless house, techno, and DNB tunes, it’s the perfect night for any student raver. Tickets are student budget-friendly, starting from £4.50, and the drinks are cheap too. Well and truly skint? The Space have got just the thing. Skint Thursdays is one of the most in-demand Thursday nights in Leeds, mainly because of its unrivalled value for money, penny-pinching drink offers and two rooms of non-stop slammers. The Main Room provides the ultimate party mash-up, while Room 2 will bring you all things R&B and hip-hop. So, lace up your dancing shoes (trainers are highly recommended) and head out into Space.

Calling all rock fans – this is the student night in Leeds for you. On Fridays, the DJs at Fuel blast out all your favourite alt tunes. In Room 1, you can get down to the likes of Fall Out Boy, Paramore and My Chemical Romance. But if you like it heavier, metal titans Slipknot, Iron Maiden and Metallica can be heard in Room 2. It’s £4 on the door and 3 for £7 Jager shots all night, with other drinks from £2.80.

Fruity is the place to be on a Friday. It’s one of Leeds’ longest running and most iconic student nights out. Every weekend, the Leeds University Union is transformed into one of the hottest party venues in town. We’re talking three rooms of music, so there’s something for everyone, whether you’re an R&B fan or you love a good singalong. Weekly drink deals mean it’s too cheap to pass up – shots and vodka mixers are just £2. Cheers to that!

Love a bit of soul? The legendary Sunday Joint has played host to some of the greatest soul, Latin, hip-hop, funk and salsa parties for over 20 years. Each and every Sunday there’s live music and DJs playing until 4am, so you can finish your weekend off in style. Past guests include Nyah Grace, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Haggis Horns and Submotion Orchestra. Entry is free after 8pm, so you can get into it, even on a student budget.

It’s not officially a Leeds student night, but Bongo’s Bingo couldn’t be left off this list. Clubbing and bingo rolled into one, this is an utterly bonkers night of fun every month at the O2 Academy. You’ll belt out High School Musical classics, wave glow sticks and even take part in epic dance battles as you try to get a full house. There are some equally crazy prizes up for grabs, so you could be going home with a gigantic toy unicorn or even £500 in cash.
