The Wedding Market

From pre-loved wedding fairs to vintage extravaganzas, here’s where to pick up unique pieces in the coming months…

Leeds is one of the best shopping destinations outside the capital, but just because we’ve got shops galore, doesn’t mean we don’t want something new every now and again. Luckily, the city has a host of events in the pipeline that will make your shopping trips even more exciting, whether you’re looking for a wedding dress or vintage threads.

Advintageous Vintage Market

Vintage is the name of the game in the coming months, as one of the city’s longstanding fairs has found itself a new home. Advintageous Vintage Market will now take place in the new event space at Leeds Kirkgate Market, where they’ll be pulling out the big guns to please the city’s style savvy masses. You’ll find 40 stalls here, each loaded with pre-loved finds – but it’s not just shopping, they also have entertainment on, inspired by the past of course, so stick around when you’re done shopping and enjoy the show.

Advintageous Vintage Market takes place at Leeds Kirkgate Market on the first Saturday of the month.

The Bridal Market

This one’s a little bit different to the others. Still pre-loved, but this time totally obsessed with the biggest day of your life – The Bridal Market brings together 36 wedding vendors, with all manner of handmade loveliness to choose from, as well as presenting you with a unique opportunity to give an old wedding dress a new lease of life. See the dresses on the catwalk, try them on and find out if your dream dress was also someone else’s.

The Bridal Market takes place at Leeds Kirkgate Market on Saturday 4th March 2017.

What’s not to love about St Gemma’s Vintage Fair? They hold events around the year, showcasing the amazing pieces that have been donated to their worthy cause over the last few months. They squirrel the best ones away for their fairs, as well as inviting national vendors who collect their pre-loved wares from all over the world to take up residence. The result is an event that’s an absolute treasure trove of vintage loveliness – and if you find something to take home, you’ll be helping a great cause.

The Vintage Fair Weekend takes place at St Gemma’s Hospice on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th March 2017.
