If you love all things vintage, get these little-known shops on your radar.
Leeds is known for its awesome selection of vintage shops, but even the most avid thrifters might not have discovered these three treasure troves. Found in old warehouses and down quiet residential streets, they fly under-the-radar but they’re well worth seeking out for the intriguing and unique gems that await. From retro threads to rare antique furniture, they have it all, so what are you waiting for? Get thrifting.
Tucked in the corner of the Headingley Taps car park and marked only by a sign above the door, you’ve probably walked past Retro Treasure countless times without realising it’s there. This family-run shop might look small at first, but step inside and you’ll discover a wonderland of vintage gems and antiques spread across three rooms.
Their collection is seriously eclectic with surprising second-hand treasures you won’t find anywhere else. We’re talking pub regalia, old fashioned sewing machines, stamp collections, military wear, retro gaming consoles and vintage cameras. They even have Elland Road memorabilia for footy fans. Looking to thrift some furniture? Don’t miss the warehouse hidden at the back of the shop – it’s full of bargains with hardwood dining tables, huge chests of drawers and comfy sofas for as little as £10.

Vintage in Oulton
It’s a 30-minute drive out of the city centre to Vintage in Oulton, so you’d be forgiven for not having discovered this out-of-town treasure yet. This two-floor shop is dedicated to all things vintage, and with its own crack team of in-house dealers, you’ll find loads of cool, one-of-a-kind pieces here.
It’s the place to go if you want to kit out your home with vintage accessories. Ornate French mirrors, rustic wood cabinets, carved stone statues and quirky elephant tables – they have it all and more. They’re constantly getting new stock in too, so no two visits will ever be the same. You might even get your hands on rare one-offs – in the past they’ve had everything from Ghettoblaster boomboxes to Meiji-period ceramics and 19th-century flagons. You’ll have to be quick though, because the best finds don’t hang around long.

Oakwood Vintage is one of the best vintage shops in Leeds that you might not have stumbled across yet – mainly because it’s actually hidden down a residential street in Chapel Allerton, not Oakwood. They’re vintage interior design experts and they’re seriously good at what they do, as you’ll tell as soon as you step inside this stylish shop.
They have a curated selection of furniture and home accessories for you to browse – each piece is hand-picked for its fashionable old-school charm, so you won’t have to rummage through any random bric-a-brac. Instead, you’ll find classic, leather-bound books tucked in dark-wood cabinets and ornate Persian rugs laid under 80s-style coffee tables. They have an array of wall hangings too, from classical portraits to retro art prints and mounted deer heads.
