Calling all vintage shopping lovers! Now’s your chance to do a good deed and go home with a bucketload of vintage treasures…
Leeds is well-known for its vintage shopping scene, and one of the things that makes it so special is the St Gemma’s Hospice Vintage Fair. It takes place four times a year, attracting shoppers from across Yorkshire, and beyond.
The Spring Fair was cancelled due to heavy snowfall in March, but don’t worry, it’s been re-arranged for 27th April 2013. So put the date in your diary and get ready to scour the stalls for vintage bargains.
Throughout the year, the twenty St Gemma’s Hospice stores collect vintage and antique pieces to sell at the fairs. And on the day, they’re joined by a host expert traders from across the UK. So there’s a lot of choice, with everything from clothes and jewellery to furniture and bric-a-brac.
As well as vintage shopping, you can relax with a cuppa at the Retro Tea Shop, which is well-stocked with traditional cupcakes, or treat yourself to a vintage makeover, as they’ll be doing hair and make-up on the day.
But this is not just a great day out, it’s an opportunity to help raise some money for a good cause. And it really does make a difference, as fundraiser Michelle Budd told us ‘previous years have raised over £30,000 from the 4 events.’
The Spring Vintage Fair will take place on the grounds of St Gemma’s Hospice on 27th April 2013 between 10am and 3pm.
