There’s something incredibly exciting about vintage fairs. You never know what you’re going to find – and that’s certainly the case at The Vintage Home Show.
Returning to Pudsey Civic Hall on Sunday 19th June 2016, The Vintage Home Show promises 40 exhibitors selling the best in pre-loved homeware – and it’s not to be missed. Even if you’ve been before, you just never know what you’ll find, because they’re bringing all new collections to Leeds, ranging from original 50s art to old school furniture.
Take inspiration from entire room sets
You might well be accustomed to seeing an entire room laid out for you at Ikea, but you probably don’t expect it at a vintage fair. That, however, is exactly what you’ll find at The Vintage Home Show, because regulars, Retrolicious, have taken over an entire room, giving you a glimpse into the past with their quirky set-ups. You could buy the whole lot and sort an entire room in one go or just get a little inspiration – it’s up to you.
Pick up a piece of original 50s artwork
For the first time ever, they’re going to have Fifties Art & Design exhibiting at The Vintage Home Show – and their collection is rather exciting. You see, they specialise in original artwork produced in the 1950s, with a host of prints and pictures priced between £40 and £300. You’ll find all manner of abstract pieces here, typical of the period – it’s a rare opportunity to get your hands on a work of art from an incredibly important era in the world of art.
Treat yourself to remade vintage items
No, we’re not talking replicas, we’re talking beautiful heritage and vintage fabrics transformed into everyday pieces. That’s what Lilac Pearl Textiles do. The Leicester based designers take preloved material with bright, colourful patterns and turn them into cushions, lampshades and accessories. No two are ever the same, so you can also rest assured that each one is completely unique.
Go retro with your music
Vinyl has made something of a come back over recent years, and what better way to listen to it than on an original record player? You’ll find them in spades at The Vintage Home Show, as Andy Wilcox will be bringing his entire stash with him, including bright, colourful box-style record players and radiograms. Not only do they sound great, but they look the part too – real vintage chic.
That only scratches the surface
They’re just four of the exhibitors who’ll be attending The Vintage Home Show, with vintage specialists from all over the UK coming to Leeds for the event. You can pick up anything from ceramics and retro film posters to sideboards, nesting tables and comfy chairs – so whether you’ve got a space that needs filling or a hankering for something to brighten up your home, you’re sure to find something to suit.
There’s something for every one & every budget
What’s great about The Vintage Home Show is that you can get some really nice pieces, at just a fraction of the price you’d be paying if you bought it new – and there really is something for every budget. You can get pottery and kitchenware from around £5, with home accessories and small pieces of furniture at around the £40 mark. If you’re looking for investment pieces, they have original film posters from £80, depending on how rare they are, and statement furniture priced at between £100 and £500.
It’s here for one day only
The Vintage Home Show will only be in Leeds for one day, which means you only get one chance to pick up the cool as heck pieces they have on show. In fact, even if you go to their next show in October, you won’t see be able to get the same stuff, because between now and then, their vendors will be out sourcing beautiful new things to share with shoppers.
