Discover the mouth-watering genius of Kerala Canteen

Since opening in early 2025, Kerala Canteen has quickly become one of the most talked-about Indian restaurants in the city. The world’s first Keralan tapas restaurant, it blends toddy shop-inspired small plates with serious foodie credentials.

Culinary direction comes from MasterChef: The Professionals’ Bobby Geetha, who has teamed up with Michelin-trained chef Abdulkhader Allingal Siddique on the project. In just 12 months, the pair have secured a place in The British Indian Good Food Guide’s Top 100 Indian Restaurants in the UK, cementing the restaurant’s reputation as one of the top Indian spots in Yorkshire.

Land this prize and you’ll get to share Kerala Canteen’s Ultra Roast for two. It all starts with a towering eight-inch Yorkshire pudding. Inside, you’ll find a low-braised and roasted T-bone steak, drenched in Kerala beef and bone marrow curry. There’s chilli and tamarind cauliflower for a sharp, spicy contrast, while triple-cooked gunpowder hasselback potatoes stand in for your usual roasties.

To wash it down, you’ll also get a frosty pint of Kingfisher Ultra – the ultimate accompaniment. It’s a symbolic fusion of “God’s Own Country to God’s Own County”, blending Kerala’s spice heritage with Yorkshire’s most sacred Sunday tradition. It’s bold, indulgent, and unapologetically different. We’re sold – see you Sunday.
