LIFI25 is the fifth edition of the festival, which returns again to Leeds Playhouse from Tuesday 14th to Saturday 18th October 2025. Tackle the subjects that matter at LIFI

The power of music as medicine is truly remarkable.
The series finale is a topical debate on gender equality in sport, with broadcaster Shebahn Aherne hosting a panel that includes ex-Lioness Fara Williams and Olympic medal-winning weightlifter Emily Campbell. Women’s sport is finally getting the spotlight it deserves, but when gender pay gaps, sexism, homophobia and more lurk beneath the surface, how far have we really come?

The next part of your prize is downright delicious. You’ll get to visit stunning Rambuttri – an authentic Thai restaurant that’s just a stone’s throw from Leeds Playhouse. Step inside and you’ll find an ambient space, with hushed lighting to set the mood. It’s the latest venture from the team behind Thai tapas joint Phranakhon, and you can expect more of the same in terms of food quality and exemplary service.
You’ll have £100 to spend, so you can explore the far reaches of their adventurous menu. Kick things off with the likes of crispy pork belly pancakes and hot & sour soup, before moving onto mains like grilled monkfish, braised lamb massaman, and pad Thai. There are Thai beers and wines on offer too, including rare serves from the only vineyard in Thailand.
Spend two nights at the DoubleTree
The final part of your prize is a two night stay for two at the DoubleTree Hilton. Sitting pretty on the Leeds waterfront, this four-star hotel is one of the city’s most scenic spots, and you’ll get to experience it in all its glory, with dinner, bed and breakfast for two. The best bit? It’s right next to Leeds Station, so it couldn’t be more convenient!
You’ll get to dine at the Lock Restaurant, before cosying up in an ultra-comfy double room. Be sure to have a nightcap in the Sky Lounge before you go to bed – the views are unrivalled. In the morning, a huge buffet breakfast awaits, with the option to order something fresh from the menu. It’s the perfect way to set you up for the day!
