After years of planning and work, Leeds Trinity University have opened the doors to their brand new Leeds City Campus – and there’s plenty to foster and inspire learning minds here.

Located at 1 Trevelyan Square, just off Boar Lane and minutes from the station, the campus spans 54,000 square feet across seven floors. It’s packed with state-of-the-art facilities that showcase the university’s dedication to providing the best learning environment for its students. It boasts modern classrooms, a lecture theatre, collaboration spaces, focus areas and study lounges.

Head to the third floor to visit the bespoke library. Here, you can read in peace or exchange ideas thanks to a range of study facilities, from group study rooms to a study lounge and silent study area.

There’s also specialist facilities created to support the university’s programmes, including a trading room and lab space for Computer Science and Construction courses. On the fifth floor is a courtroom and custody room – complete with its own holding cell – to provide an immersive trial experience for Law, Criminal Justice and Criminology students.

With no shortage of breakout areas, students can feel comfortable and productive. Informal meeting spaces invite students and colleagues to collaborate, there’s a study lounge on the third floor and a student lounge on the first floor where you can relax and reconnect with friends.

To keep busy minds feeling fuelled, the dedicated on-site FairGround cafe is located on the ground floor, providing caffeine fixes and tasty bites. Plus, local Leeds favourite, Doh’hut, is right on the campus’ doorstep. Meanwhile, the Student’s Union area – also on the first floor – provides a bustling hub for student activity and engagement.

The City Campus truly caters to all their students. Faith facilities include a chapel and multifaith prayer room, while bike racks, on-site showers and changing facilities encourage environmentally-friendly travel. The university have also partnered with Unite Students to provide accommodation at Clarence Dock Village – less than a 20-minute walk away.

Sustainability has been a key focus of the campus development, with the university proving their commitment to reducing their environmental impact. The design features renewable energy sources and heat pump systems, while systems are in place to monitor and reduce energy consumption across the new campus.

It’s a massive achievement for the university to be able to welcome students and colleagues to the new campus, after work started back in 2022. The 1 Trevelyan Square site joins their main campus in Horsforth, where they’ve been delivering education for nearly six decades. The City Campus offers the opportunity for students and faculty members to engage with the local community, businesses and industry leaders, while getting stuck into Leeds’ vibrant city centre scene.
