Believe it or not, cocktails don’t have to cost the earth. In fact, you can get a tasty little concoction for as little as £6 at these cheap and cheerful bars. Dirty Martini
Dirty Martini’s happy hour is such a permanent fixture that it’s earned them a place in this list. You can get half-price Martinis all day everyday until 8pm, apart from Saturdays when it ends at 6pm. They have 15 Martinis for you to choose from, so you could treat yourself to a classic like their Espresso Martini (it has butterscotch schnapps) or their very own Dirty Martini. If you fancy something different, give the fruity Sky Blue a go, as it brings together Absolut vodka, blue Curaçao, pineapple syrup and citrus.

Brooklyn
Brooklyn is a Leeds staple that brings the New York party vibes. Cocktails are what they do best here and all their creations are £8 or £8.50 on their own or 2 for £12 until 9pm everyday. They have a mix of classics and originals, so you can play it safe or try something new. Want something light? Try Blacker The Berry, a mix of vodka, Creme de Cassis, Aperol, framboise and a squeeze of lime. Fancy a sweet one? Go for Indigo, a screwball-inspired concoction of raspberry vodka, Blue Curaçao and bubblegum syrup, topped with white chocolate foam.

Turtle Bay
You can sup Turtle Bay’s exotic concoctions for less. Their 2-4-1 happy hour runs every day until 7pm, then again from 9.30pm (10pm on Friday and Saturday), so why not double up? It’s a Caribbean venue, so expect a host of rum-centric tipples. They have classics like the Mai Tai, the Strawberry Daiquiri and the Mojito, or you can try their own creations, like the Zombie, which is made with Cockspur rum, dark rum, Woods overproof, Sebor absinthe, grenadine, lemon and pineapple juice.

Las Iguanas
Las Iguanas run their happy hour all day every day. That means you can get 2-4-1 cocktails, mocktails and pitchers every time you visit – whether you’re coming for food or just drinks. You have to order two of the same cocktail, but you know what they say – one good cocktail deserves another. You can order two Vanilla Mai Tais, Caipirinhas or Pina Coladas for the price of one. They even do carbon-friendly cocktails, where they plant a tree for every 10 sold – so you can do the planet good too!

Banyan is the place you want to be on a hot day. Cheap cocktails, plus outdoor seating? It’s a winner. They have 2-4-1 on cocktails all day on Sunday to Friday and on Saturday from 5pm – you’ll get two of the same. You can bask in the rays, whilst sipping on a couple of Banyan Iced Teas, a refreshing and fruity mix of 42 Below Vodka, Portobello Road Gin and lemonade with apricot, passionfruit and lemon. For something warming, go for the Pin-Up Punch, with two types of rum, dark cacao, pineapple and lime.

Thewlis
Nestled on Park Row, Thewlis is an independent cocktail bar that’s all dark wood and cosy booths. It looks pretty decadent, but they do a bargain deal on their cocktails. You can get two of the same cocktail for £12 from a selected list of utterly delicious classics. It runs from 4pm to close on Wednesday to Friday and on Saturdays the party’s on 12pm to 6pm. You might be sipping a couple of simple but perfect daiquiris – just rum, lime and sugar, or a Mint Julep, a refreshing mix of bourbon, sugar syrup and mint.
