If you can’t stop filling up your wardrobe with pre-loved wares, make a beeline for Honey in Leeds Corn Exchange.

Head up to the top balcony of Leeds Corn Exchange and you’ll soon come across a little gem that will help transform your look. That’s because Honey has arrived – it’s a brand new vintage clothing shop, but with a little difference, because as well as sourcing old school looks, they also like to get creative with their own designs, something that’s only going to expand as they settle into their new home.

However, Honey isn’t strictly new. It’s the brainchild of Amy Garth – she studied fashion design at Leeds Arts University and when she graduated, she started to make her own clothes. Fast forward 10 years, and she’s moved from time-consuming clothing to a whole range of jewellery and accessories. She’s built up a loyal following online while also working at Pop Boutique, so the time has naturally come for her to go for it fully with Honey.

“After COVID, I had to get a job in a vintage shop,” Amy told us about how Honey has come to be. “And then that’s when I really fell in love with it, the passion I had. It was like, yeah, I realised how much I love it. And from then I started selling my own stuff and I just thought I want to create a bit of a community instead of it being online and a bit faceless.”

So what can you expect? Around the perimeter of the shop are rails-upon-rails of hand-picked vintage clothing. It’s not your jumble shop kind of thing, oh no. Every piece for sale in Honey has been hand-picked to fit in with current trends, the coolest looks and the brands people want to be able to find. Whether you’re looking for a dress for a weekend night out or a comfy throwback jumper for the cold, they’ve got something for your fit.

Then at the centre of the shop is an eye-catching tiled table where you’ll find all manner of cool accessories. Super-cool 70s shades sit alongside mirrored ski glasses, stripy socks are found next to one of Amy’s trademark creations – the crochet scrunchie. They come in all manner of colours, so you can pick up a couple and have one to match every outfit – why not, eh?

Love Punkyfish? They’re one of the brands of the moment, and one of Amy’s favourites – you might be lucky to find one of their bags hanging from the wall. Want to complete your look? Handmade jewellery is central to Honey and something that Amy is going to grow as she settles into life in Leeds Corn Exchange – you’ll find her cool, unique necklaces on the central table too.

A new vintage shop in the heart of Leeds? We love it. Honey is now at home in Leeds Corn Exchange and it feels like the start of an exciting journey for owner Amy. Combining Y2K threads with her own handmade pieces, it means every visit promises the chance to find something new – why not pay a visit on your next city centre shopping spree?
