Discover Brewery Wharf Tavern, a modern pub by the riverside in Leeds. With a warm and cosy interior, plus one of the best outdoor waterfront beer terraces in the city, it’s the perfect place to drink, dine and socialise.

Just a short stroll from Leeds Station, Brewery Wharf Tavern is serving riverside pints, great food and sunny terrace sessions all summer long.

The best pints in Leeds aren’t always right outside the station. Wander a little further and you’ll be rewarded with quality ale, stunning dockside views and good times by the water. It takes just under 15 minutes to walk from Leeds Station to Brewery Wharf Tavern – about the same time as listening to a quarter of a podcast episode. And at the end of it, there’s a crisp pint waiting for you on the terrace.

Perched on the banks of the River Aire, Brewery Wharf Tavern feels like an escape from the bustle of the city centre – even though it’s less than a 15-minute walk from the station. Head down Swinegate, cross the river to the South Bank and within minutes you’ll find one of the most relaxed drinking spots in the city.

One of the biggest draws is the outdoor terrace, which is up there with the best in Leeds. Set right on the water’s edge, there’s plenty of space to settle in with a drink while you soak up some serious views. It’s a warm and friendly spot where dogs are encouraged, kids are welcome and lazy afternoons feel effortless.

As with any venue from the Whitelock’s team, you can guarantee the drinks selection doesn’t disappoint. Behind the bar, you’ll find 14 keg lines and four hand-pulls, pouring everything from Five Points XPA to Timothy Taylor’s Landlord. It’s not all local ales though – there’s international favourites like Guinness and Staropramen, so everyone’s covered.

There’s plenty beyond beer too. The cocktail list features homemade classics including four different types of Bloody Mary, alongside a solid wine selection and a line-up of spritzes ready-made for afternoons by the water. The drinks deals are worth a look too, including tempting offers like £10 cocktails and two spritzes for £15.

Proper pub food to settle in for

There’s no need to relocate if you get hungry. The Tav’s kitchen has you sorted with a menu of pub favourites designed to pair perfectly with a pint. Swing by at lunchtime for one of their sourdough sarnies – the harissa lamb and roasted red onion is a real treat – while Sundays serve up roast dinners with all the trimmings.

Then there’s the pizzas. You’ll smell them before you see them, making it almost impossible not to order. Made with freshly rolled dough, they’re stonebaked and topped with bold flavours, like ox cheek chilli, butter chicken and mock duck. And just wait until you discover the Monkey Bread – think soft dough, garlic butter and molten cheese, and you’re on the right track.
