From cool-as-heck bars to family-friendly lanes, we’ve rounded up the best bowling alleys for all ages and abilities. Roxy Lanes

Roxy Lanes is one of the premier bowling alleys in Leeds city centre. With its uber-cool feel, it makes the ultimate destination for those seeking a memorable evening of bowls, delightful drinks and pretty darn tasty food, all in industrial-chic surroundings. Think neon lights and banging tunes that take your bowling experience up a notch. As for the lanes themselves, there are four to choose from – they have flat-screen TVs above each one and the latest ball-retrieval technology, so you won’t have to wait long for your lucky ball.

The food is next-level too. We’re talking stone-baked pizzas topped with everything from buffalo chicken to nduja & hot honey to enjoy while you play and addictive sides like garlic bread bites and popcorn chicken. The bar is epic here. You can wash that grub down with signature cocktails like the Twistin’ My Melon – a tasty concoction made with Bacardi Coconut Rum, watermelon, strawberry and prosecco. Prefer the hoppy stuff? Craft beer’s on the menu too.

Location: The Light, 44-48 The Headrow, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 8TL.
Budget: £10 to £12 per person.

You can immerse yourself in a nostalgic bowling experience at Hollywood Bowl, where 32 lanes eagerly await your arrival. There’s ample space for the entire family to enjoy hours of friendly competition. The lanes here are fully computerised and there’s even the option to proudly showcase your strikes on social media! For the little ones and those who need extra support, there are ramps, bumpers and lighter bowling balls, ensuring a level playing field for everyone.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, make your way to their charming 50s-style American diner, where you can relish in enormous hot dogs, mouthwatering cheeseburgers and delightful milkshakes. To extend the fun beyond bowling, a dedicated gaming zone promises plenty of excitement. Heck, you can even have a go at winning prizes by earning tickets on the arcade games, including favourites like Mario Kart and motorbike racing.
