Elethea Studios founder Holly Puddephatt was inspired to learn how to teach reformer pilates after seeing how much it helped her rehabilitation following the birth of her daughter. So, she left her corporate job to set up Elethea, with venues in York, Wakefield, Harrogate and Leeds’ own Scarcroft.
Inside it’s all neat and uniform, with a lovely herringbone floor, neutral tones and plants dotted around the studio to create a calm and welcoming atmosphere. Classes range from the introductory beginner flow to the high-intensity dynamic sessions, so everyone can find the perfect way to move, challenge themselves and break a sweat.

Willow Method

You’ve heard of Barrecore, now let us introduce Willow Method. Formerly Reformcore, this was actually one of the first reformer pilates studios to pop up in Leeds after taking London by storm. They use state-of-the-art machines to combine reformer pilates and barrecore. The result? A fun, high-energy way to work out.
There are several reformer classes to choose from including Reformer Roots where you’ll learn the essentials of doing pilates on the reformer to Reformer Strong where progressive resistance, powerful core work and and athletic reformer sequences . The former is ideal for beginners who are looking to work their core, thighs and chest, while the latter makes you work harder than ever building strength, stamina and flexibility.

Swish and swanky, Kuwa Pilates is the place to go in Leeds if you’re looking for a luxury reformer pilates studio. Located a minute’s walk away from Leeds train station, it’s easy to get to, and once you’re there, you’ll be welcomed with hands-on instructors who are happy to help.
There are seven classes to choose from in total, and each one will push you to work hard. Are you looking to do reformer pilates in Leeds city centre? You’ll find Outskulpted a stone’s throw from the bus station, where directors Georgia Ashby and Shiniqua Coote have curated a luxurious studio that caters to all their client’s fitness requirements.
Inside the studio is light and airy, with exposed brick and high ceilings. All the classes are suitable for beginners – we love how the instructors let you go at your own pace, offering variations so all the moves are accessible. If you want something challenging, though, the Jump & Strength class is sure to work up a sweat, incorporating a Jumpboard for an added cardio boost.
