It never takes long before a brand new array of stores, bars and eateries are flinging open their doors in Leeds.
We’ve rounded up six fantastic new spots that are set to be landing in Leeds soon. From independent freehouses along the River Aire, to all-day dining ventures with breathtaking views and elegant reformer pilates studios right in the city centre, there’s plenty of great stuff on the horizon.
CrowdedHouse

When Angelica and Crafthouse closed up shop, it left a prime spot of real estate at the top of Trinity sitting vacant. Thankfully, those 12,000 square feet of space and gorgeous panoramic views of the city skyline will be given a new lease of life in the form of CrowdedHouse. A sister brand of Leeds staple Three’s a Crowd, the new all-day dining and drinking venue will offer a delectable menu of locally sourced ingredients and sensational flavours, taking you from laidback lunches to evening celebrations.
CrowdedHouse will open in Leeds Trinity this summer.
WAKI MAKI

Joining the vibrant line-up of drinking and dining destinations at Wellington Place is WAKI MAKI. The independent Japanese fusion street food eatery is the answer to all your lunchtime prayers, offering jumbo sushi rolls, fresh-to-order poke bowls, hot katsu curries and much more. Already a popular spot at Leeds Uni Student Union, the prime Wellington Place location expands its reach, with indoor and outdoor seating, and regular new items giving you an excuse to come back time and time again.
WAKI MAKI will open at Wellington Place this July.
Brewery Wharf Tavern

If there’s one thing you can never have too much of, it’s independent riverside bars. So, we were pretty excited when we heard that the team behind Whitelock’s, White Cloth Hall and The Meanwood Tavern had the keys to a new venture. Brewery Wharf Tavern sits on the site of the old Home restaurant, benefitting from a spacious outdoor terrace where you can soak up the sun (when it makes an appearance). Real ales, independent beers, cocktails and wine are on the menu, alongside some great Yorkshire grub. We can’t wait!
Brewery Wharf Tavern will open on Brewery Place this July.
PILAT3S
Following international success with branches in Amsterdam and Barcelona, PILAT3S will be opening their first-ever UK studio right here in Leeds. Just a hop, skip and jump from the train station, this sleek studio will deliver reformer pilates to the heart of the city. They boast eight reformer beds, while visuals and sounds deliver a full sensory experience suitable for all skill levels. You’ll be able to pick from three classes – Power, Tone and Align – to suit your goals, with a limited intro offer unlocking three classes for £50.
PILAT3S will open on Wellington Street on Saturday 21st June 2025.
Homeboy Pizza Co

If you’ve never sampled Homeboy Pizza Co before, then you now have a new excuse to tuck into one of their deliciously cheesy slices. Alongside their Burley Road venue, they’ll be opening a new shop, taking over Harpo’s in Roundhay. They’ll be giving the space a New York-inspired facelift, with plenty of dashes of hip-hop culture kneaded into the store. As for the food? The pizza will be thin and crispy, balancing light and airy dough with a charred crust. We’ll take ours with lashings of hot honey, please.
Homeboy Pizza Co will open on Street Lane this July.
Byredo

We felt pretty chuffed when Aesop opened in Victoria Leeds, but we’re set to be absolutely spoiled with the announcement of Byredo’s new store. You may have already picked up some of Byredo’s luxurious products from the concession within Harvey Nichols, but the new shop marks their first standalone location outside of the capital. It will bring with it a treasure trove of high-quality cosmetics, fragrances, accessories and homeware. Looks like another good excuse for some retail therapy at Victoria Leeds to us.
Byredo will open in Victoria Leeds, date TBC.
