Get Baked have got a big reputation and you can soon check them out in Leeds city centre. It’s their second home, alongside their Headingley takeaway, but this new one is a sit-in cafe, tucked away behind Leeds Corn Exchange. Alongside signature sweet treats, like Bruce, the 24-layer chocolate cake, they’ll do brunch and lunch. French toast with a Get Baked twist? Yes, please!

Get Baked is opening on Crown Street in July 2023.

Karobar

Dastaan

A few weeks back, we brought you the news that Kirkstall Brewery had taken over the old Banyan venue in Horsforth. Now, there’s more to get excited about. Kirkstall have teamed up with Adel-based Indian restaurant Dastaan, so that alongside your pints of Three Swords and Virtuous IPA, you can look forward to tasty South Asian street food. Think vada pav, aloo tikki chaat and dahi puri.

Karobar is opening on New Road Side, Horsforth in summer 2023.

Padippura

Curry Stock

Love Keralan food? Keep your eyes peeled for the arrival of Padippura. It’s a new Indian restaurant opening opposite the former Burton’s factory in Harehills. The full offering is yet to be released, but you can look forward to classic Keralan recipes cooked using locally-sourced produce, like the Kuzhi Mandi, a classic Malabari dish, not too dissimilar to a biryani.

Padippura is opening on Sutherland Terrace, Harehills later in 2023.

Bridge End Social

Craft beer, brewery

The former Sid’s Bar on Bridge End is currently undergoing a major refurb before it becomes Bridge End Social. This is a big venue, split across two floors, and it will soon be filled with plenty to get excited about. You can nip by during the day for a coffee and a bite to eat from the bagel kiosk. Later on, look forward to a host of craft beers, hot food, pool and some classic pub games.

Bridge End Social is coming to Bridge End later in 2023.

Libations Rum Distillery

Libations Rum

It’s been wild few years for Libations, Leeds’ very own rum slingers. After a series of award-winning releases (the pineapple-infused one is a tropical delight) and pop-up shops, their Armley distillery is about to open to the public. You’ll soon be able to pop by for a tour of the distillery, followed by a couple of drinks in the bar. Love it? Grab a bottle to go, just 40 feet from where it’s made.

Libations Rum Distillery plans to open in Armley in 2023.

Bianco Lounge

Caballero Lounge, Bianco Lounge, Loungers Venues

There’s a new opening in Leeds from the team behind Cosy Club. This time, they’re heading to White Rose Centre with their Lounges concept just a few months after a similar arrival at The Springs. Get ready for elements of British pubs, cafes and restaurants with a laid-back vibe. With menus for brunch, lunch and dinner, you can be sure of something for everyone.

Bianco Lounge is opening at White Rose Centre on Wednesday 17th May 2023.

Bricklebank’s Cafe and Bar

Charcuterie, meat and cheese board

The Mad Greek in Chapel Allerton has only been closed for a few months, but its future is already secured. It’s been taken over by Adam Bricklebank, who’s opening his own cafe and bar after 14 years in the hospitality industry. It will be an all-day affair, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner – expect everything from eggs Benedict to charcuterie boards, with wine, beer and cocktails.

Bricklebank’s Cafe and Bar is opening on Stainbeck Lane, Chapel Allerton in summer 2023.

Cafe by Hise

Latte, coffee, cafe

There’s another Asian eatery opening in Leeds, as Cafe By Hise announces its plans for its Pudsey arrival. This will be a daytime hangout, bringing a fusion of British and Asian flavours (with a little bit of inspiration from Hong Kong) to keep you going at breakfast and lunchtime. Think rich, creamy coffees, paired with stacked sandwiches or delicious homemade sweet treats.

Cafe by Hise is opening in Pudsey later in 2023.
