The Coders Guild
Based in Leeds, The Coders Guild aims to make digital skills accessible to everyone. Their tech bootcamps cover a range of topics, from entry-level courses in software development to career-enhancing leadership training.
Their courses are part time and online, so you can fit your studies around your commitments, whether that’s a day job or caring for your family. And they range from 12 to 16 weeks, depending on the course you choose.
While their testing and UX courses require only basic digital skills, their software development bootcamp demands a pre-existing knowledge of HTML and CSS, which you can achieve through self-learning.

Generation
It may be a global nonprofit network, but Generation has a base in Leeds and they offer free coding courses to anyone aged 19+ in West Yorkshire who isn’t in full-time education or employment.
Generation aims to close the skills gap by providing digital skills to people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to access them. Their courses focus on high-demand skills, from IT and cloud support to data analytics and engineering.
Most of their tech bootcamps require no pre-existing knowledge, and when they do, you’ll be given a clear route to develop the skills you need for free, online, which means there’s no barrier to entry, whatever your circumstances.

Sky’s Get Into Tech
Get Into Tech is a programme run by Sky to encourage more women to learn how to code. It’s run once a year, in both Leeds and Osterley. Places are limited but it’s completely free to successful candidates.
This intensive tech bootcamp aims to give you the skills and confidence you need to thrive in an entry-level software development role – and it’s not unusual for them to employ graduates at the end of the course.
It’s an intensive course that will introduce you to programming and agile techniques, as well as giving you a good working knowledge of Python, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, with projects to put your new skills into action.
Everyone who enrols will benefit from group sessions, as well as one-to-one tutor support sessions, and you can also join their coding club to get expert help and advice from experienced developers, even after you’ve graduated.
Length: Full time for 5 days, then part time for 14 weeks
