Whether you’re planning days out with the kids, grandkids or the whole family, Eureka!’s packed programme of summer events offers plenty of opportunities to make lasting memories together.
With the long summer holidays sprawling out ahead, it can be overwhelming to map out enough plans to keep the kids happy. However, we’ve found just the place. Eureka! in Halifax is hosting family events all summer, from bubble shows and pirate adventures to meet and greets with the one and only Bluey.
But here’s the best bit – one ticket gives you unlimited visits for a whole year, meaning you can return for every summer event at no extra cost. Here’s what’s lined up at Eureka! this summer.
Meet Bluey before the summer holidays begin

Wackadoo! Everyone’s favourite Blue Heeler is heading to Eureka! for two very special days on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July 2026. Included in the price of standard admission, families will have the chance to meet Bluey as she makes special appearances throughout the day.
To make things as simple as possible, you’ll be given an allocated timeslot on arrival, so you can explore everything else Eureka! has to offer before and after your session. Just make sure you pre-book your tickets online in advance – even if you already have an Annual Pass.
With six interactive galleries packed with interactive exhibits, including dedicated areas for under-fives, there’s plenty to discover alongside your Bluey adventure.
Bubble magic, pirate adventures and dinosaur encounters
From Saturday 18th July 2026 until the end of August, Eureka!’s Summer Medley programme takes over, bringing themed weekends, live entertainment and hands-on activities throughout the school holidays.
First up is Bubblemania Weekend (Friday 24th to Monday 27th July 2026), which sees international bubble expert and Guinness World Record holder Ray Bubbles bring his Ultimate Bubble Show to the museum. With giant bubbles, smoke bubbles, bubble art and interactive performances, it’s sure to leave little ones wide-eyed. There’ll also be giant bubble play outdoors, with daily shows running throughout the weekend.
Be careful, because from Friday 7th to Monday 10th August 2026, pirates are sailing into Eureka! Captain Catt, Bo’sun Brains and Pirate Pete will be bringing plenty of swashbuckling fun, alongside treasure hunts, pirate crafts, dress-up activities and live shows. Don’t forget your eyepatch!
Finally, Dinosaurs Roar Weekend (Friday 21st to Monday 24th August 2026) rounds off the school holidays in prehistoric style, as dinosaurs take over the museum. Meet roaming creatures, say hello to adorable baby dinos and discover the secrets of training a Velociraptor in this Jurassic-themed family experience.

The fun doesn’t stop there. Throughout the holidays, Eureka! will also welcome back the popular street entertainer Gacko, whose interactive Summer Sessions are packed with songs, stories and plenty of silliness.
Meanwhile, Professor Pumpernickel’s Science Show returns with weird, wonderful and wacky experiments guaranteed to spark curious minds through exciting live demonstrations.
Alongside all the special events, families can continue to explore everything the museum has to offer. From learning all about the human body to playing make believe in the child-sized town square, there’s always something new to discover – whether it’s your first visit or your fifth.

A ticket to Eureka! gives you unlimited visits for a whole year, so you can come back throughout the summer holidays and enjoy even more events for no extra cost. Tickets cost £18.95 for adults and kids aged three and above, £8.45 for one to twos, and under ones get in free.
