Friday night just got even better with this incredible new sharing experience from Gaucho.
Nowhere does steak quite like Gaucho. First they take grass-fed, hand-reared Black Angus cattle raised on pristine Argentine pastures, then they age it for the unique flavour, before cooking each cut on an open flame. You can try it for yourself in the best of company at their brand new sharing experience, available from 5pm every Friday evening.
For just £65 each you’ll get to tuck into your choice of starter, followed by a huge steak sharing board, expertly matched with a trio of outstanding cocktail creations. Served in intimate subterranean surroundings, it’s the perfect way to kickstart your weekend in style. Grab a date or your mates and get yourself booked in.
Descend the stairs into Gaucho and you’re guaranteed to be blown away. Their basement venue is luxurious yet relaxed – the perfect place to share drinks and food with friends – while their service is seriously top-notch.
After being shown to your table, you’ll enjoy your choice of welcome cocktail. The Kiwi Gimlet is a sharp yet sweet mix of Roku gin, kiwi cordial and a citrus blend, while the Yerba Maté Jasmine Fizz serves up a boozy blend of Bombay Sapphire, MUYU Jasmine liqueur, Yerba Maté and Chandon sparkling wine.
Then it’s time for starters, and you’ve got a choice of three. The salmon tartare tacos are fresh and zingy, served with mango salsa and avocado, while mini empanadas come with your choice of fillings – we love the sweet potato and provolone. Elsewhere, the beetroot and smashed avo tostadas are a veggie delight.
Your starter comes with a paired cocktail, and there’s two to pick from. Gaucho’s twist on a Margarita blends El Jimador Blanco tequila and Quiquiriqui Espadin mezcal with Cointreau, red bell pepper and citrus, served with a Chimichurri salt rim. For something completely different, the Malbec El Checo mixes rosemary-infused Grey Goose, Campari and Amaro Montenegro, topped with Malbec espuma.
But the steak is the real star of the show, and you’ll get to try three of Gaucho’s finest cuts – rump, churrasco de chorizo and tira de ancho. You’ll get a hefty 300g of steak each, and it comes with bottomless chips and chimichurri sauce, so you can feast to your heart’s content.
It’s important to stress just how much value you’re getting here – these are premium cuts of steak, aged and cooked to perfection by chefs at the top of the game. What’s more, you’re saving almost a third on the original cost compared to if you ordered everything separately. Heck, you can order even more steak with those savings!
No meal is complete without something sweet, and your third cocktail will satisfy any cravings. The Alfrajores is a heady mix of Hennessy and Johnnie Walker infused with roasted cocoa nibs, coconut water, dulce de leche liqueur, Mozart dark chocolate liqueur, shortbread biscuit and milk. Phew!
There’s no need to rush off after your meal either – why not relax in the bar area and peruse Gaucho’s wine menu? They offer the most extensive collection of Argentinian wines in the UK, so if you’re into your vino, you’ll be on cloud nine. You’ll also find a star-studded selection of spirits, perfect for a nightcap.
