Croft Street Fisheries
Sustainably-sourced haddock, fried in beef dripping batter with mounds of chips and homemade mushy peas. Need we say more? Croft Street Fisheries has gained a reputation as one of the best fish and chip restaurants in Leeds. The Bearded Sailor
Pudsey locals have an award-winning chippy on their doorstep. The Bearded Sailor is a traditional fish and chip shop with a modern attitude. Ritz Fisheries has been run by the same family for over 20 years, and you can feel the history in every bite. This Wortley hole-in-the-wall chippy might look plain from the outside, but it serves up fresh fish and chips that can compete with the very best in Leeds. With renewable Icelandic fish fried in fresh, crisp batter, Murgatroyds in Yeadon has been serving up outstanding chippy teas for over 20 years. They do a mean fish and chips, but it’s not the only thing on the menu, so if you fancy something different, you can tuck into a wide selection of fishcakes, burgers and house specials, from haddock Italiano to ocean pie.
JJ’s Vish and Chips
Veggies don’t have to miss out on a good old fashioned chippy tea, thanks to
JJ’s Vish and Chips. There’s no actual fish on the menu, instead, you can try deep-fried fillets of Tofish, made from tofu, or Vish, made from banana blossom. Catch is a modern fish restaurant with a menu of tasty classics and creative twists.
