Seven new arrivals are coming to Leeds very soon – we’ve rounded up everything you need to know.

We know, we know, it’s only been a few weeks since we rounded up our last batch of new openings, but we just couldn’t help ourselves. They’re coming thick and fast in Leeds, be it fried chicken franchises or laid-back wine bars. Which one will you check out first?

Get ready to laugh your socks off, because The Glee will be opening its sixth 400-capacity UK venue on Albion Street this spring! Established 30 years ago, it’s the leading operator of comedy venues in the UK.

Some of the biggest names in comedy have graced its stages, from Peter Kay to Sarah Millican. Expect theatre-style seating, excellent lighting and acoustics, and an extensive food and drink offering.

The Glee opens on Albion Street this spring.

Popeyes

We’ve seen Popeyes – ahem – pop up in nearby Wakefield and across ghost kitchens in Leeds, but soon they’ll be opening their first city centre restaurant on Commercial Street.

The new restaurant will be the brand’s seventh location in Yorkshire, bringing with it crispy chicken in the form of tenders, wraps and, of course, the iconic Popeyes Chicken Sandwich.

Popeyes will open on Commercial Street later this year.

NoNo Wine Bar

Wine lovers, rejoice, because Leeds is about to get another wine bar! NoNo is set to open its doors on Granary Wharf, offering a laid-back, judgement-free space for vino lovers and newcomers alike.

The latest venture from Barrique Fine Wines, the 60-seat venue will allow guests to sample wines by glass and purchase their favourites to take home, with a focus on new and emerging producers as well as diverse grape varieties.

NoNo Wine Bar will open on Granary Wharf in March 2025.

Ideally located just a three-minute walk from Leeds station, you can expect free wi-fi, around-the-clock food options, a 24-hour fitness centre and outdoor spaces to unwind in.

You can enjoy delicious Latin American food with city skyline views this spring, as Azotea will be taking up space on the 12th floor of Hyatt Hotel on Sovereign Square.

The restaurant will draw inspiration from 33 vibrant Latin American countries, serving everything from authentic Mexican street food to Argentina’s famously juicy steaks. With lively music, handcrafted cocktails and an outdoor terrace, this promises to be one of Leeds’ most exciting new openings of the year.

Azotea will open on Sovereign Square in spring 2025.

Point Blank

A simulated shooting bar is coming to the city in 2025! The old Honest Burgers site near Leeds Corn Exchange is set to become Point Blank, a virtual shooting range, bar and kitchen.

Leeds will be their third venue in the UK, with two already in Manchester and Newcastle. There are five replica guns in the armoury, from a Glock to an M1911, and ranges can seat up to 10 guests with full table service.

Point Blank will open on Cloth Hall Street later this year.

Bean Coffee

With sites already across Manchester, Rochdale, Liverpool and Edinburgh, we can’t wait to welcome Bean Coffee to Leeds this March, when they’ll be opening up in Wellington Place and South Parade!

The cafe doubles up as an independent specialty coffee roaster, so you can expect delicious cups of joe, as well as baked goods, beans to takeaway and more.

Bean Coffee opens on Wellington Street in February and in March 2025.
