With over 40 acres of adventure play to explore, a visit to Stockeld Park never fails to delight. Visit at Christmas, and the Enchanted Forest gets a seasonal makeover, transforming into a one-mile light trail, illuminated with dazzling installations, projections and soundscapes.
To celebrate 20 years of Christmas adventures, this year’s trail is the biggest yet, with brand new installations including the expanded Aqua Lumina lake show, globe-trotting Wonders of the World and magical smoke-filled bubbles.
Then there’s the Snowflake Maze. At two miles long, it’s the largest evergreen maze in Yorkshire, made with 2,000 estate-grown yew trees. Wander across bridges, find musical instruments and get lost trying to find the special sculpture hiding in the centre of the maze.

After you’ve found your way out, it’s time to head to the panto. Talegate Theatre’s take on Jack and the Beanstalk is packed with silliness, jokes and audience participation. Join Jack, Dame Trot, Slimebag and Daisy the cow as they set out to defeat the giant, with plenty of chances to shout along as the story unfolds.
And no Christmas day out is complete without a trip to see Santa. Your ticket also includes a journey to a magical North Pole village, where you’ll step into an enchanted elevator and travel to Santa’s cosy log cabin. There’s time for a photo together before you collect your gift and head on your way.
