From vibrant borders to flourishing kitchen gardens, National Trust’s Yorkshire gardens have burst into bloom.
Yorkshire is home to some truly beautiful outdoor spaces, many of them looked after by the National Trust. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful countryside escape, scenic walking routes or colourful seasonal displays, these gardens are the perfect place to slow down and spend time in nature. Here are five of our favourite National Trust gardens in Yorkshire.

Beningbrough’s eight-acre formal gardens are especially beautiful in early summer, with colourful herbaceous borders and blossom-filled orchard spaces coming into bloom. What’s more, the gardens are currently undergoing a major transformation led by award-winning designer Andy Sturgeon, creating new spaces to explore.
One of the highlights is the Mediterranean Garden, which opened in summer 2024. Follow winding pathways lined with pollinator-friendly planting, pause in tucked-away seating areas and listen to the calming sound of water trickling into the pond. Be sure to look out for the elegant pergola too, where tumbling white wisteria creates one of the prettiest corners of the estate.
