Kemps Farm Pick Your Own

Looking for somewhere to go strawberry picking in Leeds? Kemps Farm in Horsforth is about as convenient as it gets. Just 20 minutes from the city centre, the family-run farm grows its strawberries outdoors and offers raised tabletop picking to make the experience more enjoyable and accessible.
Once you’ve stocked up on fresh, juicy berries, you can stop by the café, meet the resident pigs and goats, or let the kids burn off some energy in the play area.

Farmer Copleys Strawberry Experience

Around 40 minutes from Leeds, Farmer Copleys’ Strawberry Experience turns fruit picking into one of the best family days out in Yorkshire. Alongside acres of strawberries, you’ll find new varieties for 2026 including Red Makalu, Sonata and Eve’s Joy, as well as giant strawberry photo opportunities and a giant mirror selfie spot in the tunnels.
It’s not just strawberries either – raspberries, blackberries and gooseberries are often available later in the season, while the farm shop and Copleys Kitchen serve up plenty of foodie delights to turn your visit into a full afternoon.

If you’re after a simple, no-fuss strawberry picking experience, Bentley Grange is hard to beat. Roughly 45 minutes from Leeds, this unassuming spot is absolutely brimming with strawberries that are just waiting to be plucked. Visit later in the season and you’ll also find raspberries, blackcurrants and redcurrants ready for picking.
With no booking system and no entry fee, it’s refreshingly straightforward – pick up a container, head into the fields and pay only for the fruit you take home. Their top tip? Have a good look around before you start filling your punnet, as the ripest berries are often found a little further from the entrance.

About an hour from Leeds, The Balloon Tree is well worth the drive for its huge selection of pick-your-own fruit. Simply turn up, grab a punnet and head out into the fields to start your harvest.
Alongside strawberries, you’ll find gooseberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, raspberries and blueberries throughout the season, making it one of the best places near Leeds for a mixed berry haul. Once you’ve filled your punnet, head to The Berry Barn or Farm Shop to pay before stopping by the café and play area.
