Hometown heroes Blue Rinse Vintage started out in Leeds in 1997 and have slowly been making their way across the country ever since. With two shops in the city centre – the Merrion Centre outlet and a five-floor Call Lane stalwart – you’re never too far away from your next great vintage find.
Step inside and you’ll be taken on a pit-stop tour of all the greatest decades, from the 60s all the way through to the 00s. Levi’s jeans, cosy varsity jackets and band tees are all here in every colour of the rainbow. They even have reworked pieces made from recycled fabrics to really do their bit for the planet.
Blue Rinse, 14 Call Lane, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 7DH & 57 Merrion Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS2 8NG.
Ryan Vintage

Vintage sportswear lover? You’ll love Ryan Vintage, one of the longest-running retro clothing stores in Leeds. While it’s small, it’s absolutely packed to the rafters with old-school eye candy at every turn – we’re talking everything from Nike and Adidas to New Balance and Dickies.
Rummage through the bins and root around the shelves and you’ll reward yourself in ways you never knew possible – we once picked out a gorgeous Carhartt cap. There’s always someone on hand to help, and with the team being stylists themselves, you’re bound to walk out feeling a million dollars.
Ryan Vintage, 13 Duncan Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 6DQ.
White Rose
White Rose set out to redefine what you’d expect from a typical charity shop. The founders wanted to give vintage clothing a high-street shopping makeover, and with success across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, Leeds was next to get a taste.
Unlike most vintage shops in Leeds, there’s a full women’s section downstairs and a full men’s section upstairs, meaning everyone is well catered for. Children’s clothing, accessories, shoes, bags, and more cover a whole range of brands, from Primark to Hugo Boss. It’s like Vinted, with less time scrolling and more time shopping!
White Rose, 77 Albion Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 5AW.
COW

With a string of shops across the country, COW is best known for ethically sourcing handpicked items from across the world. Walk down Vicar Lane and you’ll catch the eye of their trendy mannequins, impeccably styled by a team of fashionistas, but that’s just a taste of what delights await.
There’s green graphic tops for Y2K realness or long suede Afghan coats for the perfect 70s vibe. If it’s denim you want, it’s denim you’ll get, with racks upon racks of jeans, skirts and jackets. It’s not just their clothing section that’s impressive though – made from 90% recycled materials, the interior is a feast for the senses. Keep an eye out for the trippy mirror display.
Cow Vintage, County House, 82 Vicar Lane, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 7JH.
BEST

It’s in the name, but BEST really is one of the best vintage shops in Leeds. It’s been sitting pretty on New Market Street for over 10 years now, and as the only flagship store in the country, you can be sure you’re browsing only the – ahem – best.
The music is always booming – it can get seriously loud, but don’t let that distract you from the cool garments. Streetwear lovers will be well looked after here, with Stussy, Palace, Supreme, and lots of vintage Nike and Reebok taking pride of place on the rails. We have to say though, the stock is definitely more tailored to men, so women may want to look elsewhere.
BEST, 22-24 New Market Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 6DG.
North South Vintage

The past few years have seen Hyde Park’s North South Vintage get a makeover, transforming the bric-a-brac-lined shelves into rails heavy with a stunningly curated selection of vintage. Walk in and you’ll be welcomed with a burning waft of incense, cool graffiti and exposed brickwork.
From utility trousers to Ralph Lauren striped polos, vintage football shirts to American football jumpers, they’re all about effortlessly cool clothing here and it shows – just take a look at the sportswear logos plastered across the walls. It’s not just all clothes though, because downstairs is home to candlesticks, jewellery and, our personal favourite, crystals!
North South Vintage, 8-10 Headingley Lane, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS6 2AS.
Honey
We can’t get enough of Honey. It’s the brainchild of Amy Garth, who started the business online before it got a bricks-and-mortar store in Leeds Corn Exchange. While it’s small, it’s packed to the brim with Y2K goodness every which way you look.
Every piece in the store has been handpicked in line with current trends, so it’s really the place to be if you want to stay on top of your fashion game. We’re talking baby tees, quarter-zip jumpers, mesh floaty tops, maxi dresses and more. Amy even hand-makes loads of accessories, from skinny scarves to seriously big crochet scrunchies. We’ll take five, thanks!
Honey, Leeds Corn Exchange, Call Lane, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 7BR.
Pop Boutique

Think of retro shops in Leeds and Pop Boutique will likely spring to mind. The move from Central Street to a pastel-painted Lands Lane home has made room for even more vintage threads – we love shopping for shopping’s sake here, as we’re bound to come away with a load of goodies.
Jackets are the speciality at Pop Boutique, from leather bombers to fur Afghan coats, denim numbers to Moto jackets, all perfect for keeping the chill away but stylishly, of course. Elsewhere, the flannel selection is on point and all jeans are labelled by the waist so you can find your perfect fit.
Pop Boutique, 26 Lands Lane, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 6LB.
Glass Onion
When South Yorkshire favourite Glass Onion crossed the border into West Yorkshire, vintage lovers rejoiced. Various retro garments from across Europe and the USA are shipped into their massive Barnsley warehouse, before being painstakingly sorted and sent to their Leeds store.
Be it North Face or Nike, all your favourite brands are here. But if you can look past the labels for a second, you might discover some overlooked vintage treasure – take their Remade range, for example, which reworks old items to give them a second chance.
Glass Onion, 30 Albion Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 6HX.
Chinese Laundry

A visit to Chinese Laundry will have you feeling like the coolest kid on the block. You’ll be drawn into their Corn Exchange home by the booming R&B soundtrack, but we bet you’ll stay for the great selection of vintage streetwear, from shoes to shirts.
You’ll find original garments dating all the way back from the 60s to the 90s, alongside a whole host of masterfully reworked garments in keeping with today’s trends. Look elsewhere and you’ll find branded accessories, hoodies and tees.
