Here we have another stacked batch of new openings planning their Leeds arrival in the coming months.

That’s right, there are yet more new openings coming soon to Leeds! Another five are heading our way and they’re an eclectic bunch promising all kinds of palate-pleasing tastiness. If you love steak, there’s a big-time coming from London, cyclists can look forward to a specialist cafe and families have a cafe-cum-play venue to get excited about. But that’s just a hint of what’s coming in the next few months – read on to get the full lowdown.

The Hidden Village

A children’s role-play village, cafe and boutique toyshop is coming to Leeds. The Hidden Village is taking over the former Brasserie Forty 4 with this exciting, family-run concept. The play area will take your little ones from building a house to looking after animals while the shop will sell quality, eco-friendly toys. It will also offer a place where parents can take a break – their cosy cafe will serve fresh coffee, tasty lunches and all manner of homemade cakes.

The Hidden Village is opening at 44 Call Lane on 29th July 2023.

PARIA Shop & Coffee

Coffee, cafe

If you’re a keen cyclist, you’ll likely know PARIA and their nonconformist cycling gear, but now they’re expanding in a new direction with a shop and cafe in the heart of Chapel Allerton. You’ll be able to pick up all of their cycling kit and bike apparel, but you can pair that with a chance to fuel up for your cycling adventures. They’ll serve coffee from Hard Lines with locally-sourced cakes and pastries, which you can enjoy in a cool, modern venue or in their outdoor seating area.

Bird & Blend

Love tea? Then Bird & Blend is a new opening well worth keeping an eye out for before the end of the year. It’s manned by their expert Tea Mixologists who will be on-hand to take you through their famous Tea Wall – it’s stocked with over 100 different loose leaf tea blends for you to take and brew up at home. Not only that, but you can also enjoy a cuppa while you’re there – they serve everything from tea lattes to iced tea to go!

One of the biggest new openings of 2023, Leeds is set to welcome Flat Iron and its marvellous steaks this autumn. They’re taking over the former Byron Burger on Lands Lane and it will be their second restaurant outside of London. Expect steak, at surprisingly affordable prices, like their trademark Flat iron, which comes in at £13 and pairs deliciously with sides like beef dripping chips, creamed spinach and truffled macaroni cheese.

Flat Iron is opening in Leeds city centre in autumn 2023.

The Whisky Shop

Make space in your drinks cabinet stat, because The Whisky Shop is coming to Leeds. They’re experts in premium spirits with a big online presence and shops around the UK. Soon, you’ll be able to visit their new County Arcade shop and pick up all kinds of whiskies, including rare, limited-edition bottles. That’s alongside everything from gin and vodka to brandy, tequila and premixed cocktails – whatever you love, they’ll have it.
