Be it food or fashion, these are the five new spots set to make their mark in Leeds.
Change is always afoot in Leeds and this month is no different. With five new venues set to open their doors in the city soon, whether you want to shop ‘til you drop, grab a bite to eat or score a perfect 10, there’s truly something for everybody. Check them out.
Dishoom
Yes, you heard that right – Dishoom is finally bringing its delicious Bombay fare to Leeds! The new venture is set to be based in the former Flannels unit on Vicar Lane, according to a planning application submitted to Leeds City Council. Not much has been revealed yet, but if its other UK restaurants are anything to go off, we can expect indulgent black daal, tandoor lamb chops and even a bacon naan roll or two.
Dishoom will open on Vicar Lane, date TBC.
Mommy Mookrata

It was sad to see Bulgogi Grill close its doors a few months ago, but never fear, because this spring, it’s back under a new name – Mommy Mookrata. While it’ll still retain the much-loved tabletop grilling element, additional offerings will be added into the mix, such as hotpot. Get ready to gather, grill, and indulge — the social dining experience you love is back and better than ever.
Mommy Mookrata will open in the Merrion Centre this spring.
Emba
You may have heard that Mustard Wharf’s ‘The Owl’ is no more but in its place, we’re about to get treated to a brand new dining concept, ‘Emba’. Headed up by chef patron Liz Cottam, not much has been revealed yet, but it promises to be a vibrant, relaxed gastrobar where properly good cooking meets real warmth. We can’t wait!
Emba will open at Granary Wharf, date TBC.
King Pins
It’s a strike for King Pins as they look to open their fifth site in the White Rose Centre this summer! Guests will be able to enjoy 10-pin bowling, tech darts, shuffleboard and ice-free curling. But it doesn’t stop there, oh no – King Pins will also have a bar and on-site eatery to ensure the good times keep rolling between games.
King Pins opens in the White Rose Centre later this year.
George Asda
Have you heard that Asda will be trialling a new George stand-alone concept store at Crown Point? The former Asda Living store is set to be totally transformed with a new layout, showcasing the best of George’s clothing range, homeware, toys, essential baby items and even a cafe area. If successful, the pilot project will replace the Asda Living brand portfolio across the UK.
George will open at Crown Point Retail Park on Saturday 10th May 2025.
