Freshers Week is the biggest event on the university calendar and 2025 is going to be a year to remember. With a load of welcome activities and more freshers club nights than you can shake a stick at, you’ve got a jam-packed week of socialising, exploring and partying to look forward to.
But where do you start? This guide will give you the lowdown on all the events happening across the city, so you can make your first week one you’ll never forget.
University of Leeds Events
K-POP’D! Know your BTS from your BLACKPINK? You’ll love K-POP’D at Leeds University Union’s Terrace Bar. A night in celebration of – you guessed it – KPOP and the vibrant international community here in Leeds, you’ll be dancing along to the very best KPOP DJs in the city, with great drinks deals, decor and more.
The First Fruity Of The Year! Possibly Leeds’ most iconic club night, Fruity is back for another year, and to celebrate, they’re throwing a party on Friday 19th September 2025! With Pure Fruity Energy in the Main Room, a Fruity Drag Disco and the world-famous karaoke cave in full swing, it’s sure to be an unforgettable night of fun.
The Freshers Arrival Party. Leeds University Union are throwing a Freshers Arrival Party on Sunday 21st September 2025, and it’s set to be the highlight of the week. Held Union-wide, there’ll be multiple rooms full of dancing, singing and partying. You can expect live musicians, drag shows, indoor neon golf and karaoke – whew!

Rock & Alternative Night. Get your rocks off with a full-throttle night of rock and alt anthems at Old Bar on Wednesday 24th September 2025. With DJs blasting out the bangers, pub grub to fuel the moshing and free entry for all, it’ll get you headbanging all night – and your head might still be banging the next day.
The Freshers Traffic Light Party. Ready, set, go – this event will be illuminating your relationship status – with green meaning single, yellow meaning it’s complicated, and red meaning you’re taken but just here for the vibes. Wear your colours and head to Stylus on Thursday 25th September 2025 to mingle in a high-energy club night.
Fruity’s 24th Birthday Party!. Raise a toast and celebrate 24 years of Fruity bringing the tunes, dance moves and party vibes to one of Leeds’ most iconic student club nights. Along with DJs and drink deals, there’ll be a full venue takeover with birthday decorations, giveaways and freebies all night.
Leeds Beckett University Events

Freshers Fairs. Freshers Fairs are a great way to find out what you can expect this upcoming semester at Leeds Beckett – you can meet your student officers, join societies and bag a whole load of freebies. This year’s fairs will be held on the Headingley campus on Monday 15th September 2025, as well as the city campus from Tuesday 16th to Thursday 18th September 2025.
PROJEKT at Home. Hailed as ‘the North’s biggest indoor festival’, PROJEKT is moving to its new venue at Home on Saturday 13th September 2025. It’s set to be a mind-blowing evening, complete with pumping tunes, dancers, pyrotechnics, confetti and incredible visuals. It’s not one you will want to miss.
Spoons Freshers Sunday. If you’re on the hunt for cheap drinks, loud music and a cracking party atmosphere, then Spoons Freshers Sunday at Disco Spoons on Sunday 14th September 2025 is the place to be. Throw your finest shapes to pop, dance and RNB anthems with this massive Freshers bash courtesy of Voodoo Events.

HIGH SOCIETY at If Rooftop. Whether you’re new to the city or not, If Rooftop is the ideal place to take in breathtaking panoramic views of Leeds while you sup on cocktails and party the night away at HIGH SOCIETY every Thursday, starting Thursday 18th September 2025. It’s a stylish, exclusive affair backdropped by the hottest soundtrack from live DJs and vocalists.
FREAK at Northern Market. Get your freak on at this new event for 2025 from Voodoo Events. Friday 19th September 2025 will see Northern Market be taken over with live music, finger-linking street food, suppable craft beer and even a micro cinema showing classic films and TV shows – with free popcorn and cookies, of course.
Global Village Welcome Party. A great way to socialise and form new friendships, the free Global Village Welcome Party will be held at the Students Union on Thursday 25th September 2025. You can meet the Officer Team and fellow students while tucking into tasty food and dancing to even tastier tunes.
Leeds Trinity Events
Welcome Party. You’ve arrived at Leeds Trinity University, you’ve found your room and you’ve dropped your bags. Now what? The Welcome Party, that’s what. Held on Sunday 21st September 2025 at both the city and Horsforth campuses, you can look forward to fun activities, such as bingo and Speed Friending, to help break the ice and get conversation flowing.
Freshers Fair. Looking to get the very best out of your university experience? You can do exactly that with Leeds Trinity’s Freshers Fair on Wednesday 24th September 2025 for Horsforth and Thursday 25th September 2025 for the city campus. Make your way down for an afternoon of signing up to societies and clubs, meeting the LTSU team and freebies.
SU Popcorn & Film Afternoon. Looking for things to do this freshers week in Leeds that don’t involve drinking? On Tuesday 23rd September 2025, there’ll be a free film afternoon at both campuses, complete with plenty of popcorn and snacks. Simply turn up, relax and enjoy a midweek movie treat.
All other events
F*ck Me It’s Freshers. Make your way to Mint Warehouse on Sunday 21st September 2025 for a neon-drenched, immersive club night packed to the brim with drinks, entertainment, party games and freebies. It’s a major event in the Leeds Freshers calendar, so secure your tickets before it sells out.
Freshers Wonderland. It’s time to get funky as you step into Freshers Wonderland at Home nightclub and enter a world of glitter, confetti and colourful lights. You’ll be whisked away on a fantastic adventure where your mission is to dance the night away in an evening of pure disco magic.
The Big Freshers Icebreaker. Get to know your fellow freshers at this unique event on Tuesday 16th September 2025. A big party with a focus on inclusivity, attendees will be given social challenges to help them socialise with their new flatmates, along with prizes, giveaways, on stage performances and incredible DJ sets.

Lost Art Leeds | Freshers Welcome Party. One of the warmest welcomes for new students to the city, Lost Art serves up a bohemian playground where you can dance your heart away and make new connections. There’ll be live music and performances, DJ sets and a fantastic atmosphere where you can connect with like-minded music fans.
Boogaloo Freshers Extravaganza. This will be a full venue takeover of Belgrave Music Hall on Wednesday 24th September 2025, meaning three different floors to explore. Watch DJs as they spin their decks, get moving in the dance-bustin’ club room or head up to the rooftop hangout if you just want to kick back and talk to some new friends.
