Big changes are coming to bus travel in West Yorkshire, and this time, you’re part of the design team.
For the first time in decades, buses across the region are coming back under local control – and the people who use them every day (and those who don’t) get to help decide what’s on board. From WiFi to wheelchair ramps, West Yorkshire Combined Authority needs your help to design the new Weaver Network buses, set to hit our roads in April 2027.
Your feedback will directly impact the final designs, so don’t miss your chance to have a say before Sunday 21st December 2025.
Making bus travel accessible for all

The Weaver Network is all about making bus travel easier for people of all ages and abilities to get around – and your input is key to getting it right. Whether it’s space for wheelchairs and prams, easy access ramps or clear audio announcements, whatever helps you get on board, West Yorkshire Combined Authority wants to hear it.
When you complete the online questionnaire, you’ll see different seating layouts and interior options to comment on. Mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin said: “Buses are a vital part of our public transport network, and we need to ensure they are accessible to as many people as possible.”
Whether you’re a daily commuter, an occasional passenger or someone who currently avoids the bus altogether, your views and experiences matter.
Ensuring a comfortable journey

Once you’re on board, comfort makes all the difference. The consultation gives you the chance to shape everything from seating materials and flooring design to heating and temperature control. Even the smallest of details can transform an everyday journey into a better one.
The Mayor added: “Having the most comfortable and enjoyable passenger experience will encourage more people to get out of their cars and on to our Weaver Network.” The new state-of-the-art, zero-emission buses will also help manage temperatures better – keeping you cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
Keeping you connected

Emails, messages, that nail-biting Netflix show – life doesn’t stop when you get on the bus. Take the survey and you’ll be able to share your thoughts on connectivity, from what kind of USB charging you’d like, to whether on board WiFi is a must for you.
It’s these finishing touches that can turn a good journey into a great one. Your voice matters, and your choices will directly influence the buses you’ll be travelling on in 2027.
Design the bus you want to catch
West Yorkshire Combined Authority is designing new buses for the Weaver Network, and your voice will help shape the final result.
The consultation is open until Sunday 21st December 2025. Whether you travel by bus every day, once in a while or not at all, this is your chance to share what would make you choose the bus in the future.
