Mountains of mash, boats of gravy and a smorgasbord of veg, here’s where to get it all in Leeds…
We know that finding a quality Sunday lunch as a vegan can be a bit of a chore. From dealing with sub-par meat replacements to having to go without gravy, or worse, having no options at all – it’s not easy. That’s why we’ve scoured the city and put together this handy list of top-notch vegan roasts. These Leeds eateries all offer a cracking vegan roast dinner, so you can hang up your oven gloves and indulge in a chilled Sunday afternoon complete with a right good feed. Happy eating!
Three’s A Crowd

The Reliance’s Sunday roast was a firm local favourite, and that’s a trend set to continue under new owners Three’s A Crowd. Their red lentil and celeriac nut roast is a Sunday menu staple, designed to make vegan bellies sing.
Made freshly in-house every day, it’s animal product-free, seasoned just right and so good you’ll definitely want seconds. Also on your plate you’ll find fluffy-on-the-inside roast potatoes along with two veg offerings (maybe even three!). It’s all topped off with meat-free gravy, ready for your condiments of choice.
Three’s A Crowd, 76-78 North Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS2 7PN. Roast dinner is served from 12pm until 7pm on Sundays. Yorkshire pudding not included in vegan roast.
Wapentake

Wapentake is a quaint one-up, one-down Yorkshire pub with a whole lot to give – especially if you’re vegan. Their vegan roast is never an option, it’s always a must. Their signature homemade veggie roast is the star of the show, and it can be made vegan upon request.
This scrummy offering comes served with no-creamy-but-still-creamy mash and roasties (who says you can’t have both?), baby carrots and broccoli. Pour over gravy ‘til your heart’s content and you’re onto a winner. The vegan sage & onion stuffing takes things to the next level.
Wapentake, 92 Kirkgate, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS2 7DJ. Roast dinner is served from 12pm to 7pm on Sundays. Yorkshire pudding may not be included in vegan roast.
Stuzzi

The Stuzzi Sunday roast comes vegan too, and contrary to belief, there’s little to no pasta involved. You can expect a generous portion of their roasted hassleback beetroot served with mixed seeds, golden sultanas and a lovely little herb stuffing.
We’re talking perfectly crisp roasties, parsnips and carrots with seasonal greens, sprinkled with Pecorino and onion crumb. Finished with a good pour of vegan red wine gravy, this may just be roast dinner heaven for vegans and the meat-free curious.
Stuzzi, 7 Merrion Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 6PQ. Roast dinner is served from 12pm until 8pm on Sundays.
The Brunswick

The Sunday roast at The Brunswick is the stuff of legend – and it comes vegan. Every plate is piled high with oh-so-crispy roast tatties, maple syrup-glazed carrots, tenderstem broccoli in salsa verde and of course, plenty of umami-packed vegan, gluten-free gravy.
The piece de resistance is the lemon and thyme ‘chicken’ seitan, so good it almost tastes like the real thing. The mini Bloody Mary on the side really seals the deal. They love to experiment, so keep an eye out for new vegan specials.
The Brunswick, 82 North Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS2 7PN. Roast dinner is served from 12pm until 6pm on Sundays.
