The Moortown venue is the third in the Residence family, bringing all-day brunch and cocktails to the suburb.
Six years on from the opening of its first venue, Residence has launched a third location in Moortown. Serving fresh coffee, delicious small plates and expertly-mixed cocktails, the stylish day-to-night concept is a fantastic addition to the Harrogate Road scene. Here’s everything you need to know about Residence Moortown.
Following on from the success of its Cookridge and Headingley sites, Residence has turned its attention to Moortown, transforming the former Barclays Bank building into a chic hangout. Perfect for anything from mid-morning lattes to post-work Negronis, the cafe bar is already proving to be popular with the locals.
The outside of the venue combines lush botanicals with eye-catching green signage, and once you step inside, you’ll find leather booths, parquet flooring and warm lighting. There’s even a private dining room set in the building’s original bank vault. When the sun’s out, the heated outdoor terrace is the perfect spot for people-watching.

During the day, it’s a cosy cafe-meets-casual brunch hangout, where quality coffee and stacked brunch dishes rub shoulders with boozy cocktails. When night falls, expect sophisticated vibes, small plates and stonebaked pizzas. Whatever time you visit, you can guarantee friendly service, immaculately-presented food and a lively atmosphere.
If you’ve visited Residence before, you know what you’re in for. Brunch arrives in the form of pancake stacks, benedicts and delightful Turkish eggs, while the evening menu introduces the likes of arancini, bao buns and bavette steak. They’re also serving pizzas, topped with an array of inventive toppings – the vodka puttanesca is sublime.

As for the cocktails, you can expect a carefully-curated shortlist of well-done classics, taking you from super-fresh Bloody Marys to the Dark And A Little Bit Stormy. Visit for bottomless brunch and you can keep them flowing for 90 minutes for an extra £14.95 on weekdays or £19.95 on weekends.
“After months of planning to create a beautiful and inviting café and bar space, we’re thrilled to finally open the doors to our new venue in Moortown,” General Manager, Nate Smith, said. “This new dual-purpose setting brings something a bit different for our customers to enjoy, and we have lots in store – day and night – to keep everyone’s tastes satisfied!”
