Kerala Canteen

Tharavadu

Award-winning and highly renowned, Tharavadu is a local gem and will be a big hit as a Mother’s Day restaurant in Leeds. Settle down in the welcoming interiors, complete with dark hued tables, wood-panelling and colourful maps adorning the walls. And the welcome you’ll receive here is as warming as the authentic Keralan dishes on offer.

Start by nibbling on expertly seasoned poppadoms with an array of homemade chutneys and pickles before ordering the likes of chilli paneer, meen chuttathu (aromatically spiced fish fillet) and the fragrant pothu peralan beef dish for starters. The menu is chock-a-block with lip-smackingly delicious curries, spanning seafood delicacies, vegetarian delights and a Kerala kozhi curry that customers rate as better than a tikka masala. Mum will definitely leave feeling full.

Olive Tree Brasserie

Olive Tree Brasserie has a moreish Mediterranean meal for mum this year. With streams of natural light, sleek wooden tables and statement olive trees, this restaurant is a real feast for the eyes – but it’s your taste buds that will be tantalised with their three-course offering this Mother’s Day.

There’s no shortage of options on the menu. You can choose from creamy garlic mushrooms, savoury Greek onion soup ‘stifado’ and chargrilled halloumi pastourama for starters, before moving on to mains, which are all about the roasts. There’s perfectly pink roast beef, a generous half-roast corn-fed chicken and pan-roasted cod skordalia, with a plant-based chicken roast for veggies. Desserts include tangy lemon tart, decadent chocolate tahini brownie and sweet orange & feta pie – and of course, there’s a FREE gift for mum to make things even sweeter.

Six by Nico serves up a wonderfully unique dining experience which is sure to land you as mum’s favourite this Mother’s Day. This trendy and laid-back restaurant offers six courses, based on a different destination, theme or concept – and it changes every six weeks. Book in for Sunday 15th March 2026 and you and your mum can be detectives for the day, with a Sherlock Holmes-inspired spread.

From the moment you arrive you’ll be transported to the shadowy streets of Victorian London, where a live investigation will unfold as you eat. Traitors winner Jake Brown will play Shelock, leaning on you for clues that will be revealed with each course that’s served. While you do your best to crack the case, you and your mum can indulge in innovative dishes like bubble and squeak with confit cabbage and gnocchi, and sole ballotine with hazlenut ragù, burnt leek and squid ink tuile. One thing’s for sure, it’ll be a Mother’s Day she’ll remember for years to come.

Fleur always pulls out all the stops. Their floral theme aligns perfectly with Mother’s Day – think pretty pastels, wisteria vines and eye-catching neon signs, perfect if you want to snap a few pictures to celebrate the special occasion.

For food, duck spring rolls and sweet potato falafel are worthy contenders for starters, but the main course is where the magic happens. Take your pick from the likes of butter chicken masala, miso salmon or – if you want to push the boat out – the 6oz grass-fed sirloin steak. You want to impress your mum this Mother’s Day, right? Well, a trip to Hazlewood Castle with a spot of afternoon tea or a three-course lunch is sure to do just that. A striking ancient building set amongst the surroundings of beautifully landscaped gardens, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better Mother’s Day restaurant in Leeds.

If the afternoon tea has caught your eye, you’re in for a treat. You’ll be seated outside in the garden marquee, where for £29 per person, you can indulge in a classic afternoon tea, or upgrade to a boozy cream te. If you really want to treat your mum, though, go for a three-course lunch in The Great Hall. For £43 per person, you’ll be let loose on a set menu that features delights like pan-seared sea trout, wild mushroom suet pudding and roasted 21-day aged sirloin of beef with Yorkshire pudding.

Un Aperol Spritz, per favore! Livin’ Italy is the most perfect retreat if you’re looking for somewhere to eat out in Leeds this Mother’s Day. Situated at the atmospheric Granary Wharf, right under the railway arches, the interior is beautifully decorated with an arched ceiling, sprawling ivy and an oh-so-Italian vespa.

Whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner, the team here have all your needs covered. The Livin’ Italy breakfast savoury special is the perfect way to treat mother dearest, with Tuscan sausage, pancetta, vine tomatoes, creamy mushrooms and a fried egg. As the sun sets, the menu takes you from arancini carbonara and nonna’s meatballs to creamy burrata and spicy pappardelle – but it would be a crime to not get one of their stone-baked pizzas. The pistachiosa is a delight, with fit di latte mozzarella, pistachio pesto, mortadella ham and – wait for it – a whole burrata. Heavenly.

Harvey Nichols’ Fourth Floor Brasserie is a classy affair, perfect if you’re looking for somewhere to treat your mum for Mother’s Day. Plush seating, low hanging lights and huge windows will impress you, but wait until you see the menu.

The Sunday menu boasts a quartet of tempting starters, spanning French onion soup to tuna tartare. The mains feature flavour delights, including roasted salmon or cod loin, braised ox cheek, roasted chicken breast or pan-fried halloumi. To round things off, you can sate your sweet tooth with one of their tasty desserts – will it be the vanilla crème brûlée or a coffee panna cotta?

Tattu

If you’re looking to wow your mum this Mother’s Day in Leeds, Tattu is one of the finest restaurants for the occasion. The interior is sure to blow your socks off – three giant cherry blossom trees arch over the dramatically immersive dining area, complete with marble-topped tables and delicately ornate Chinese furnishings.

Their food offering is something to write home about, too. They whip up Chinese fare with a modern twist, and there’s sure to be something to catch your mum’s eye. If you want to go all out, plump for the all day set menu and get ready for some culinary wizardry. Course one sees a choice of black truffle spring rolls, dumplings or royal koi fish gau arrive at your table, with mains covering kung po tofu, white miso salmon or wok-fried angry bird with jasmine rice. To top it all off, dessert comes in the form of Asian pear sticky toffee pudding or a yuzu lemon drop– delicious.

The Adelphi may not be a restaurant, but they have one of the best Mother’s Day offerings in Leeds. One of the city’s oldest pubs, this grand 18th-century Victorian haunt is the perfect cosy setting to kick back and relax in – see if you can spot its original elements, from the glasswork to the mahogany fittings.

A roast dinner is what The Adelphi does best, and this is exactly what you can expect on Mother’s Day. All dishes will be served with a classic Yorkshire pudding, crispy-yet-fluffy thyme-roasted potatoes and buttered savoy cabbage, as well as leeks, peas and roasted root vegetables. For mains, you can take your pick from aged beef sirloin, roast chicken, nut roast and pork belly – you can even plump for a sharing platter, where you’ll sample a trio of meats. If that wasn’t tempting enough already, all mums will receive a complimentary glass of Moët champagne. Cheers to that!

Browns

Housed in a beautifully imposing former banking hall in the heart of Leeds, Browns is one of the best-looking restaurants in the city, and it has a dedicated menu especially for Mother’s Day. Grab a pew under the fretted Georgian windows and dark mahogany finishings and tuck into your meal, soundtracked by live piano, and with a complimentary glass of Moët & Chandon champagne for the guest of honour.

But what’s on offer? Well, it’s a Sunday, so it’d be rude not to have a roast. You’ll choose from sirloin of beef, half roast chicken, slow-cooked pork belly or root vegetable roast, with all the trimmings – think roast potatoes, roast vegetables and buttered seasoned greens. If you want to really go all out, there’s a succulent rack of lamb for two to share. The rich chocolate fondant is the perfect way to round off the affair – sweet just like the occasion.

Light, airy and luxurious, The Whitehall is the perfect restaurant for a memorable Mother’s Day lunch in Leeds. The menu takes inspiration from Britain’s best, using classic and simple ingredients to create a flurry of delicious dishes, ready for you to eat up in their sleek dining area. A real hidden gem, it’s guaranteed to impress.

It’s a Sunday after all, so a roast could be on the cards, but their a la carte menu never fails to delight. So, what dish will call your name? For starters, there are seven incredible plates to choose from, be it the umami French onion soup or decadent Scottish king scallops. The amount of choice for main courses will get your head spinning, from pizzas and pastas to a hefty grill menu. Their 600g Chateaubriand served with triple cooked chips is perfect for you and mum to share, but you can never go wrong with the black truffle gnocchi. Divine!

Dakota has it all. One of the most luxurious restaurants and bars in Leeds, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better-looking destination if you’re looking to eat out for Mother’s Day. Mum will be well and truly looked after here, with impeccable service and doting waiters who will tend to her every want and need.

Dakota pride themselves on serving up seasonal ingredients that create their ever-changing menus, but what’s in store on this special day? Order a la carte and you can tuck into starters like ox cheek croquettes, scallops and roasted butternut squash soup, but the main course is where the magic really happens. They’re famed around these parts for their steak, so it’d be a crime not to treat mum to a juicy ribeye or share a Chateaubriand if you really want to spoil her. Elsewhere, the pan-seared salmon or wild mushroom rigatoni are excellent choices.
