From juicy cheeseburgers to sticky miso-glazed aubergine, there’s plenty to sink your teeth into at The Victoria.
If you haven’t visited The Victoria & Commercial since its grand reopening, now’s the time. Kirkstall Brewery and Whitelock’s have breathed new life into the historic pub, transforming it into one of Leeds’ favourite spots for a pint. And now there’s even more reason to visit, with a refreshed food menu featuring new dishes alongside returning favourites. Here’s what’s worth ordering.

The Victoria’s refreshed food menu brings together comforting favourites and seasonal specials, with elevated pub classics lining up next to lighter vegetarian dishes. You’ll find bold flavours and seasonal produce throughout, proving The Vic’s chefs know exactly how to put a fresh spin on the classics.
One of the standout dishes is the BBQ’d beef short rib – a generous cut of melt-in-the-mouth beef served with charred corn, roast new potatoes and Kashmiri chilli butter. You can expect all the flavours of a summer barbecue, without having to worry about the cooking – or the weather.
For something equally indulgent, the homemade chicken Kyiv comes with Tenderstem broccoli and crisp pommes Anna. Slice through the golden coating to reveal a generous pool of cowboy butter – comfort food at its finest.
Looking for something lighter? The tempura courgette flower is a summery delight, paired with lemon and mint superstraccia and tomato salsa. Then there’s the grilled asparagus, served with crispy hen’s egg, gunpowder salt, and lemon and tarragon butter – proof that vegetables can be every bit as satisfying as the meat dishes.
Nick Robertson, Head Chef at The Victoria, said: “With every menu change at The Victoria, we aim to turn first time guests into regulars. We make sure we have the British classics covered with our Fish and Chips or Braised Beef Shin Steamed Suet Pudding, while showcasing the best of seasonal produce with dishes like our Superstraccia-stuffed courgette flower, which is only available while our supplier has them.”

No visit to The Victoria is complete without something from behind the bar. Alongside Kirkstall Brewery favourites on tap, you’ll find rotating guest ales, a carefully curated wine list and what might just be one of the best pints of Guinness in Leeds (trust us).
If cocktails are more your thing, they’re two for £18 all day, every day. Our pick? The Picante Margarita – a fiery mix of tequila, lime, chilli and coriander, balanced with a splash of sweet agave syrup.
With hearty new dishes, quality ales and beautifully restored interiors, The Victoria’s new food menu offers another reason to revisit one of Leeds’ favourite pubs. See what’s new and plan your visit.
