In Lamentation by Michael O’Hare

Following the closure of Psycho Sandbar (formerly The Man Behind the Curtain) and a year incognito, celebrity chef Michael O’Hare is back with another innovative restaurant concept. His latest venture, In Lamentation, is set to be an intimate foray into fine dining, serving just 16 covers a night in an edgy Boston Spa venue.

No details of the menu have been released yet, but if there’s anything we can expect from the man who gave Leeds its first Michelin starred eatery, it’s top quality and creativity. Throughout his storied career, O’Hare has been a longstanding judge on The Great British Menu, and gone into business with football legends, Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville – yet he remains committed to serving exciting dishes to the good people of Leeds. Brace yourself, In Lamentation will sure shake up the Boston Spa food scene in the best way.

In Lamentation will open in Boston Spa in early 2026.

Primark’s Big Expansion

The only thing better than a big Primark in a shopping centre is an even bigger Primark in a shopping centre – and White Rose is about to prove why that is. Their Primark is getting an upgrade that’ll see it grow to over double its current size, meaning even more stylish, pocket-friendly looks at shoppers’ disposal.

Planning permission was approved earlier this year, making it one of a handful of changes taking place in White Rose, including the addition of a Wingstop, Chopstix, and King Pins bowling alley. With all these great changes, it’s no wonder footfall to the shopping centre is also increasing, having hit a record breaking 12 million visitors last year alone. No doubt this number will continue to rise following the Primark expansion – you’ll find us getting lost in the sale section!

Primark’s big expansion is currently underway at White Rose shopping centre and set to be complete by 2027.

Leeds Hospitals Charity

Ilkley’s getting a brand new charity shop, filled with quality pre-loved homeware, clothing, books and more. Leeds Hospitals Charity are opening their biggest store yet in the spa town, making it even easier for Ilkley residents to support patients, families, and staff across Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

As far as we’re concerned, you can never have too many charity shops, and they’re the perfect places to while away an afternoon, finding gems at amazing prices. With this one opening just before Christmas, it’s a great opportunity to look for stocking fillers or even festive decor on a budget, knowing that every purchase helps make a real difference.

Leeds Hospitals Charity will open their new shop next to Bettys in Ilkley on Tuesday 25th November 2025.
